So, I posted this on Facebook, but in light of the Presidential Debate(s), I’d like to get my personal opinions out one more time:
“Really? REALLY. Romney can’t even tell what his REAL agenda will be as President and we want to vote for him? Seriously, America? You look at all the things Obama has done and it doesn’t seem like much but seriously? In retrospect?
While this change has been slow, Obama has paved way for future and current generations. Promoting EQUALITY, and CIVIL LIBERTIES as our original founding colonists wanted in the 1700′s. yeah, it’s been one hell of a slow ride, and it’s pretty controversial but you know WHY? Because OBAMA wants to be pro-everyone’s beliefs.
Now, take ROMNEY for example…
He doesn’t favor equality or justice. He’s the guy who will pass a law so that HE doesn’t have to do something. The people aren’t his concern. Ever since the second debate all we have heard is Mitt Romney echoing and bashing the ideals of the president, or not even giving a clear say on why he wants to do at all. Know what I heard on the second election?
“I have a plan…but I don’t want to tell, even though the linguistics of this plan is why I want you all to vote for me.” ARE YOU SHITTING ME?
Mitt Romney has been playing ring around the Rosie with the things that American’s really want to hear. A Romney advisor has been quoted that “Afghanistan is not the focus because it’s not what real Americans want to talk about.” What does that mean? It has already been established that this guy, Romney, who’s philosophy is “Kill now, think later” does not have a real plan or intention for ending the war in Afghanistan. He criticizes the president for “not invading a country in four years” but let’s see, internationally Obama has improved foreign affairs, ended the war on Iraq, begun a plan to end the nuclear arms war…REMEMBER AMERICANS, those bombs and weapons of total mass destruction that can obliterate countries in seconds? (Japan, WWII ring a bell?) while Romney is a full supporter of the cause. Not to mention his lack of concern for Afg. Yeah, so if I have a concern am I a fake American?
Do you know what this tells me? This tells me that Romney thinks that “hey, the present war on terror doesn’t matter!” and it tells me that Americans who have loved ones fighting right now in the war and in Afghanistan don’t care that as president those loved ones will have more of a higher risk to be KILLED because it just won’t be one of Romney’s concerns. And then, when those men in uniform come to your door to tell you that your child or spouse or parent has died, you will just have to sit there thinking, “All because I voted for a man who was too backwards to care.”
America needs to think of these issues. CHANGE isn’t fast, so for those of you who only want Romney because you can’t handle Obama’s PACE better think things through. Look at Kennedy’s administration, and Roosevelt even. Change wasn’t fast then either, but when it hit, it was beneficial. And that is something you need to remember. Vote for a president who’s means is NOT OUR CAUSE if you would like, because of you do that you’ve really fucked over every belief you ever had, because you couldn’t see past the PERSON and look at the CONSEQUENCES OF CHANGE. Damn, ya’ll gonna have a rude awakening on Nov. 6 if you all aren’t careful.”
End of Facebook rant. And I really mean it. I plan on going through later on and really evaluating each candidate to be fair, however, I don’t really have the time. Let me just say that I don’t like Obama. I think that his methods for change, while he did have a great thesis plan, were gone about all wrong, and could have been handled/executed better. However, I like Obama better than Romney. The last thing America needs in another Nixon, bless his soul, in office. When I saw the second Presidential Debate, I tweeted: Romney’s mouth is saying one thing, but his implications are saying another. What he needs to say is the downfalls of OUR country, not someone else’s. How is he doing to fix OUR economy, Our currency, and OUR system of consumerism? Because he preached and preached about China, whom he has under the counter dealings with. He preached about the Middle East and about Libya, and about Obama’s actions in the affairs, but did he nec. say anything regarding how specifically he wanted things to be done and how he would change things? Not really. Even the host of the second debate said he veered off on not answering, so really, what does that say? I think that the reason this election is so huge is because we are in a gridlock with each other as Americans. Thats why this is so important and scary. Because the votes we give change everything and by the looks of it, none of this is too good. America votes based on the ideals of their respective states, but what about one’s views? Personal idealism might not be voiced or might be clouded by state legislation and it’s scary to think that a person OR governmental system could receive the power to warp personal idealism. This is what we have to consider.
So…yeah, but before I veer off too much on that…
I watched Vampire Diaries, episode 2: “Memorial” last Thursday, and let me just say, wow! Enter Connor, huh?
Totally hot and obviously available hunter who obviously has some nice hardware underneath the shirt…Did anyone see that coming? If you’re like me and you read spoilers, don’t answer that, but wow, again! Apparently he may be Bonnie’s father?? Hmm, cliffhangers, cliffhangers…:P Well, whoever he is, he certainly knows what he’s doing, and he doesn’t care if the peace is disturbed, that’s the kicker. With Elena a new vampire and unable to drink blood that isn’t fresh from a human vein, what will she do, and how will this along with Connor’s appearance effect how she transitions? Previews from CW for episode 3 reveal that Matt may or may not be allowing himself to be a blood bank for Elena–and may I just say right now, I never knew Matt would be a blood-letter. I mean, Vampire Knight, anyone? He SO resembles Yuuki when she was human that it is unreal. I imagine Zero/Yuuki pairing every time I think about Elena and Matt. Maybe Matt will come to secretly enjoy it? (Pfft, Fanger.) Maybe Matt is the one Elena loses her vamp-ginity to…
Well regardless of how things have been turning out, one thing is for sure, “Memorial” was definitely a heart-wrenching and steamy episode. For example, you’ve got opening scene, ElenaxStefan in the forest, then you have ElenaxDamon in the bathroom
(talk about ooh la la, I’m sure Damon climaxed all over his undead sexy self…*nosebleed over Ian Somerhalder hotness*), there was the scene when Stefan purposes they light the lanterns, and finally, the saddest scene, when was when Damon was talking to Ric at Ric’s grave, and Alaric’s ghost was there listening the whole time! Over all, no spoilers could have prepared me for that, and trust me, I read up on my spoilers.
Catch The Vampire Diaries season four, episode 3 “The Rager” this Thursday at 8 p.m. central. Synopsis for the episode? Not posting. You’ll just have to read up on it yourself or wait another three days to see it! (But if you seriously can’t wait, look below.)
“BORN TO BE WILD — Connor (guest star Todd Williams) continues his search to uncover the secrets of Mystic Falls and tries to convince Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to work with him. With Dr. Fell’s (guest star Torrey DeVitto) help, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) question Connor, but the confrontation takes a lethal turn. Trying to keep her new life as normal as possible, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is determined to continue her senior year at Mystic Falls High with support from Matt (Zach Roerig) and Caroline (Candice Accola). Rebekah’s (Claire Holt) arrival at school makes it difficult for Elena to control her anger, but she learns that confronting Rebekah can be extremely dangerous. Later, Rebekah realizes how alone she is, and reaches out to April (guest star Grace Phillips). Stefan (Paul Wesley) takes Elena on a thrilling motorcycle ride in an effort to show her that life can still be fun. Tyler (Michael Trevino) gets a surprise visit from Hayley (guest star Phoebe Tonkin, “The Secret Circle”), a werewolf who helped him through the ordeal of breaking his sire-bond to Klaus. Concerned about Elena, as well as his own emotions, Stefan turns to a sympathetic Caroline for advice. Lance Anderson directed the episode written by Brian Young (#403)”
In more personal news, I was thinking about taking the blog a turn to EGS, for some previews into a new story, as well as an old fandom from a few years ago.
I know you guys are probably really confuzzled, I mean, when do I ever post anything relating to business on the main blog? However, until this copyright is titled, it’s not yet business. So please reference below for a preview of my upcoming story:
“Ravian,” Freedom said his name in surprise, but of course, he didn’t blame her. He hadn’t spoke to her in a week in an attempt to give her space to think. The night he had told her everything about him, she had made it clear that she didn’t want anything to do with him. Yet now here he was, standing at her front door.
“Hey,” he said. “Is Theo and Kaiyn here?”
Freedom shook her head, “No. They went out. To the store,” she answered. “For groceries. But they should be home soon. I can tell them you stopped by.” She was tripping over hear words Ravian noticed. And it was obvious that she didn’t want him to linger. Ravian nodded. He knew that they were gone.
“Well actually, I came by to see you,” he told her. He could hear the fast beats of her heart and he cleared his throat. “It’s not for anything…bad. Please don’t be anxious.”
His words were awarded with a look the old Freedom would have given him. “I’m not anxious,” she huffed, and Ravian felt the corner of his mouth pull upward slightly. At least she was keeping trying to keep herself together. It was something he admired most about her. She never let her self be taken under if she could help it.
“Good,” Ravian replied. “Is it alright if I come in? It will only be a second,” he added quickly. He watched Freedom take her bottom lip in between her teeth before nodding.
As Ravian walked passed her and into the living room, he could feel the heat radiating off her skin. His eyes narrowed. Inside the house, the air was different too. He focused on the auras. One was fading. He sat on the couch. Freedom stood in the center of the living room awkwardly.
“Do you want a soda?” she asked him.
“Nah, I’m good.” He paused. “Sit by me.”
He watched Freedom take a step back, “Ravian…”
“Freedom, please.” He kept his eyes down and heard her sigh. He felt her weight sink into the couch.
“What do you want to talk about?”
“Anything,” Ravian said to her. He looked at her from the corner of his eye, “I want to fix us, Free.”
He saw her shake her head. “I can’t deal with this right now.”
“Don’t give me that bullshit, Freedom,” Ravian sighed. ”I’ll tell you.”
“Tell me what?”
“Anything you want to learn.” Freedom looked at him.
“Why would you do that?” she asked him.
“Because I want to show you that you have no reason to be afraid of me. Free,” Ravian met her eyes. He smiled a small smile, “despite what I am, I have only ever wanted to protect you.” Freedom’s brows furrowed and she looked down at her hands. “You have questions, don’t you?” he asked.
“It’s alright,” Ravian assured her. She nodded. He waited.
“Okay,” she said finally. “How did you become..like that?” Ravian raised his brows in surprise.
“Like what? A dragon?” she nodded. “I was born this way.”
“How is that possible? I mean…” Ravian gave her a look.
“You want the ‘birds and the bees’ talk now?”
“No, I do not,” she shot back. “You’re having fun with this.”
“Yes, a little bit,” he admitted. “Well, there’s two legends.”
“Of the dragons’ origin,” Ravian elaborated. “The Legend of the Fallen Giant” and “The Legend of Prince Lucien”. The Legend of the Fallen Giant tells the story of a maiden who feel in love with a Lord Dragon. One night when the planets aligned with the moon, she called to the Lord Dragon, begging him for just one night. The Lord Dragon refused, saying that it was against nature. But she had tricked him, telling him that she was dying.
The Lord Dragon, taking pity on the dying maiden, flew from the skies down to the earth, and changed his form to that of a man, and he laid with her. Not feeling love for the maiden he departed, but later the maiden was with child.
The child was born to the maiden as a man-dragon, that changed form every new moon. He was the first dragon on earth, and my great ancestor.” Ravian shrugged.
“Wow,” Freedom said. “…and the other legend?”
“Prince Lucien was a dragon who had cast away his dragon nature with the help of The Lord Dragon. But when Princess Castillia was slain by a demon and her child was next in line to be slaughtered, Lucien begged The Lord Dragon for his form back, and swore to never cast it aside. Prince Lucien transformed into a great dragon that slain the demon and its den.”
“Humans don’t ever hear these legends.”
“They are told to dragon children in the ancient language. We haven’t allowed it to be discovered,” Ravian said.
“Prince Lucien gave up his dragon powers,” Freedom said to him and he watched her tentatively. He already knew what she was going to say, and it killed him. “Can’t you do that?”
“…I could never turn my back on my people,” he answered. He met her stare cooly, “This is who I am. I accepted that a long time ago.”
Freedom looked away from his eyes and nodded slightly, then said: “What about Eden?”
“Eden is a vampire,” Raven told her. “A murderer as well as a monster. Most of the cheesy superstitions about them are only slightly true.”
“He doesn’t need to be invited in.” Ravian looked at her.
“Is that true?”
Ravian nodded. “How did you know that?” she shook her head. “Free?”
“I hadn’t known before,” she said slowly. “What else do you know about vampires?”
“They can walk in the sun, but the older they are the harder it is for them. Stakes work. Heart shots work. A stake anywhere but the heart only paralyzes them. They can eat, their hearts beat, and if you mix holy water in any substance they take, while they may not die it’s like ingesting cyanide.” Ravian tousled his hair. “Fire can and will eat away at their skin.”
“How do you know so much?”
“For decades we’ve been at war. It was only recently that we’ve held peace with them, but that’s been real rocky.”
“There are boundaries,” Ravian explained. “This town, their town, and every where else. Dragons can’t enter their territory, and they can’t enter ours. If one happens or the other, there could be bloodshed, and neither of our people could have any say against it.”
“But Eden is a vampire! This is your boundary,” Freedom said in a tone Ravian couldn’t quite place. Anger? Fear? “Your territory. Why isn’t he dead?”
“He’s a royal. Killing a royal can result in the murder of towns. Eden is of nobility, therefore by code and agreement we are…inclined to hope that he has some logic about him.”
“And if he doesn’t?”
“Then we deal with it or they do,” Ravian shrugged. “Certain things are not to be tolerated, yet certain things can not be helped. Eden is a special case.”
He saw her motions still. “How special?”
“Anything else?” He saw her chew on her lip again.
“How do you make a vampire?” Ravian glanced at her and heard her gasp. “What did you say?”
“Change according to mood,” he told her. “A perk.” He briefly wondered what color they were. “Why do you want to know about how vampires are made?”
“I’m sorry, Ravian, I didn’t mean–”
“Why, Freedom?” Ravian demanded.
Freedom looked away, again. “I just want to know.”
“What are you hiding from me?”
“Nothing!” she sighed. “You told me you’d tell me whatever I wanted to know.” Ravian’s jaw clenched. She was such a bad liar.
“You bite them. And you keep them,” he said reluctantly.
“Keep them?” she looked at him curiously and he nodded.
“It only takes one bite,” he said, “but that doesn’t mean you’ll turn. Something has to happen…” he trailed off. “Let’s not talk about this.”
“No!” he growled at her. He felt the air around him shifting. He forced himself to stay calm.”I’m sorry, Freedom, but this is something you shouldn’t mess with. At all. These forces are too strong and too dangerous for anyone to control, even the vampires themselves. Don’t go asking questions like this everywhere. Don’t go looking for answers. Promise me, Freedom. The origins of vampires you must leave alone.”
“Okay, okay,” she said to him. “I will.”
He gave her a doubtful look.
“Really, I swear.” Ravian closed his eyes.
“…he’s gone you know.”
“Did you kill him?”
“We’ve been over that,” Ravian chastised. “Not sure what happened. Odette came to me a week ago and told me the good news. It’s unsettling that I can’t figure out why. What happened? It’s hard to say.” He waited for Freedom to say something. She didn’t. “You know why he left, don’t you?”
“Ravian…” when she started to stammer, he knew he hadn’t been wrong. His eyes flew open and he reached out and tilted her chin towards him.
“If he did anything I need to know, Free. I swear, if he hurt you…”
“Ravian, I’m not hurt; I’m here aren’t I?” He stared at her for a long time. He finally sighed and let his forefinger trail lightly on her neck. His paused mid-movement for a moment, took in a sharp breath, and shook his head.
“No,” he said softly. He stood.
“I think I need to go.” He turned to the door but paused for only a moment. “I never meant to lie to you. The less you knew before, the safer you were going to stay.”
It was the first truth that he had heard from her his whole visit. “I’m relieved about that. Take care, Free.”
Once outside, Ravian tried the best he could to not unleash his anger and destroy the whole neighborhood.
Well, there you have that, a sneak peak! For more information, including the fandom I have posted, click here.
